(NL) Borealis is een toonaangevende producent van innovatieve oplossingen op het vlak van polyolefinen, basischemicaliën en meststoffen met hoofdzetel in het Oostenrijkse Wenen. Het stelt momenteel meer dan 6900 medewerkers tewerk en heeft activiteiten in ruim 120 landen. In 2019 boekte Borealis een omzet van 8,1 miljard euro en een nettowinst van 872 miljoen euro. Via zijn holdingmaatschappij bezit Mubadala 64% van het bedrijf, terwijl de overige 36% in handen is van het Oostenrijkse OMV, een geïntegreerde, internationale olie- en gasmaatschappij. In samenwerking met Borouge, een joint venture met Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), en met Baystar™, een joint venture met Total en NOVA Chemicals in Texas, VS, levert Borealis diensten en producten aan klanten over de hele wereld.

The Baystar joint venture with Total and NOVA Chemicals in Texas, USA, serves the customer base in the North American markets with Borstar polyethylene.
